Hera 221: a tale of loss & addiction.

Hera221 was created in the Spring and Summer of 2022. I am grateful to Camilo Cardeñas and my classmates in his class on animation as a fine art media for their help in bringing this video to fruition. All sound recorded with the assistance of Steve Drown, Coordinator of the Bob Crewe Program in Art & Music at the Maine College of Art & Design.
Original soundtrack by Jai Santoro.

Talk to the Hand, silkscreen on black silk, 24X40 inches, 2022.

My sister, Christina Hardy, had an expressive and defiant way of letting you know you’d stepped over a line. Talk to the hand, because the face ain’t listening. I took this photograph on a medium format camera in undergrad, before addiction took hold and took my sister away from us. In grad school I scanned the negative and turned it into a silkscreen. I have a few prints of it on other papers and other textiles, including indigo dyed linen.
